Hofmann, Mark - Personal Copy - 7 Part Edition of The History of The Church

A personal stamped set of the History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Volumes 1-7 + Index.

Purchased from his ex-wife Doralee Olds (Hofmann), this stamped set of The History of the Church was likely used for much of the research that Hofmann did in creating his historical forgeries of the Mormon Church.

 Printed from 1948-1962, this seven part edition of the History of the Church was done by George Albert Smith. Each copy has Mark W. Hofmann's name stamped on the inside cover.

  Mark Hofmann is the centerpoint of the 3 part documentary series on Netflix titled "Murder Among the Mormons", which was released on March 3, 2021. It outlines the complex, and ultimately tragic story of Hofmann's life, in which he became one of the most accomplished forgers and counterfeiters of all-time. The level of deceit that he was able to get away with astonished those that were close to him, and his lack of empathy and emotion in regards to his crimes have led many to believe him a true sociopath.
