A Native American man is dramatically depicted against a richly colored and slightly stormy mountain scape. The space between the figure and the peaks is cast under heavy shadow, although the details of a small stream and bristled forest are unmistakable. The exquisite detailing of the man is most striking, and the viewer is left to admire the painting’s grandeur.
