A small clearing is foregrounded by the pale, broad trunks of trees standing prominently amidst a vibrant display of autumnal colors. A sense of depth and distance is created by slim, dark strokes in background shadows. The blue skies overhead add to the peaceful ambiance of the scene. Amick’s rough, slightly haphazard brushstrokes give the painting a dynamic and expressive quality that invites the viewer to explore the serene woodland setting.
